Grocery Store Finds!

I know my last post was March 6th (eek!) but unfortunately I've been so busy with school and interning that I haven't really had a free moment. I figure maybe 7 people have seen this page at most, though, so it's all good lol. Anywho, I went to Jewel yesterday to pick up a few things and saw this display..

The polishes looked quite similar to the swatches I've seen of the new China Glaze Spring Prismatic collection. I wasn't too crazy about the swatches I had seen but when I saw these colors up close, I immediately understood the hype. I am not sure if any of these are dupes but they are amazing nonetheless. I picked up Born into Privilege and Bow in my Presence. Today, I have photos of Born into Privilege.

Please excuse my orange hands - self-tanner mishap! :x

Bottle close up - a mix of Green and Silver Hues with specs of round multicolored glitter.

The bottle color is amazing!

Natural light photo.

Also, at Jewel, I found this 99 cent awesome holographic-ish color from Princessa called Pretty In Purple. I have to try it soon!

Funky Fingers Glitter/Holographic goodness!!

Hey guys! Hope you are having a wonderful day :) Today, I have swatches of probably my hands down favorite polish of all time...so far! Last Friday, I tried out Gellish (like Shellac) polish at my local salon. I only did a light pink but I have to say, it is really long lasting and pretty nice! However, I couldn't resist painting over it. This polish has been sitting in my collection just calling out to me to wear it! The brand is called Funky Fingers and I found this polish at my local Five Below store. It retails for TWO NINTEY NINE. Yes, I had to spell that out because IT IS SO AWESOME! Ok, caps lock off. Just a little excited about this one lol. I have yet to find a polish that makes me forget about my obsessive desire to score OPI's DS Amethyst...until now. While this polish isn't strictly holo, it's more like a holo-glitter hybrid, it is amazing nonetheless and is unlike anything I've ever owned. Now, onto the photos!

I'm going to start by showing you guys some bottle shots. I apologize for the photo quality; it was EXTREMELY difficult to capture this polish as it is in real life.

this is with flash under a lamp.

No Flash, under a lamp.

No flash, direct sunlight in the middle.

The color is a bit difficult to describe. From what I've seen, it can tend to look purple and silver and sometimes even blue. It has specks of holographic silver, and black. I love the specks of black, as it looks pretty cool up close. I'll let you be the judge of what color you perceive it as.

*Drools*

Sorry about the blurriness. Hard to capture the holographic in the sunlight.

No flash, natural light.

A close up of the gorgeous glitter!

Overall, I LOVE this polish and for the price I don't think you can beat it! I ran out and bought 5 more that same day!! Do you think this is a more affordable alternative to some of the other holographic polishes out there?

Have a great day!

As Seen On Pinterest!

A couple of months ago, I posted a manicure I was wearing over the summer and it seemed to be pretty popular on pinterest so I thought I'd add more photos here and explain what I was wearing. I discovered this brand in the mall in Miami while on vacation. The brand Incoco sells really awesome nail appliques. These nail polish appliques contain a top, color, and base coat all in one, according to the label. They are actually super easy to use and lasted for a good week and a half, at least when I wore them. This color was called "Call of the Wild." Incoco Nail Appliques are available for $8.99 through their website, incoco.com, or Amazon. Also, I apologize for the poor quality - all of these photos were taken from my cell phone.

The display they had at the mall - I was so excited to try them!

Again a close up in sunlight - they were super sparkly!

Have a good weekend!

My First Post!

For the longest time I have considered making a nail blog, but I have to admit I was a bit intimidated. Seeing all these amazing nail blogs out there, I was a bit leery to make a blog for my little old designs lol. Anyway, I hope that my blog will help anyone trying to decide if they should purchase a color, to see how it looks before they buy it, or maybe to just get an idea here and there what to do with the colors they have! Anyway, without further ado, here is my first post :)

I went to my local CVS yesterday and saw a new brand called "Spoiled" by Wet 'n Wild. Two colors jumped out at me - "Did I Dye it too Blonde?" and "Trust Fund Baby." So I decided to do a neon manicure with Trust Fund Baby as an accent.

Left - Did I Dye it Too Blonde? Right - Trust Fund Baby

I started by taping off my nails and added Did I Dye it too Blonde? for the tips and used a dotting tool to add Trust Fund Baby Right below the line.

While the brushes are a bit thick, the formula on DIDITB was awesome. You may want to start with a white base so the neon color really pops. I started with Sinful Colors Snow On Me White. Trust Fund Baby is a little thicker, as the glitter is in a clear base. Overall, though, Trust Fund Baby is gorgeous!

Close up of the glitter in TFB - Gold, blue, pink, and black!

End Result!

Hope you guys (or just me lol) enjoyed!
